Koalas “Functionally Extinct”

Madness. Typical London demanding too much and leaving too little. The South China Tiger hasn't been seen in decades, the northern square-lipped rhinoceros can be found twice (both female, in Kenya). The Shanghai softshell turtle has just three specimens alive (all are male). The painted dog, sometimes called the African hunting dog is on that crucial IUCN Red List. The Baiji dolphin is another oddity on that list of doom.

"More than 27,000 species are threatened with extinction. That is more than 27% of all assessed species."

Assessed species doesn't mean all know species too. That's kind of worrying. Also, if anyone likes one species of Orang Utan that WILL soon be extinct, there is an outside chance of saving all the Tapunuli species. Something to raise awareness of, until the footy season kicks in. The website is worthy of a share to kids, friends and so on.
