Kolarov as a left winger.

Should've been done weeks ago, unfortunately he can't defend so this combination of Zabs in defence and Kola attacking is perfect, especially considering Kola can get all over the place knowing that he's got a solid defender behind him.

it's interesting, for most of the game he definitely didn't play as an out-and-out winger, at least not in the vein you think of like the Adam Johnson/Gareth Bale mold. He did play wide, but a bit of his work came in the left channel, sort of like what Barry does when De Jong starts, only a much more attacking presence. Contrary to popular belief on here, he is defensively responsible as he is by trade a left back, but perhaps we've stumbled onto something here? Damocles and co. have often talked about the need for a Cambiasso type, and while Kolorov isn't the most accurate of passers, he can defo pick out a decent one now and then again, along with of course a stunning cross.

A midfield 3 of
De Jong, Kolarov, Yaya

with Silva, Tevez, Dzeko/Balo up top?

sure maybe Kolarov doesn't have the British industry and hardsmanship of a Barry in midfield, but maybe worth a go?

What does this say about his future though? He was bought as a fill back . What happens to him when bAlo is fit?

I think he'll move back to LB next weekend...
