well, it's nice when they can defend, but look at Maicon, he's killing it in SA, and I don't even know if he has made a tackle in his own half. I don't really understand how some full backs get away with it, but they do. I guess you have to be able to dominate that side of the pitch, if you can do it in possession then the defensive side of it doesn't seem to matter as much....

A LB or RB duty is not focused on defending so much nowdays. They need to make runs off the ball in order to create space and an organic movement around the pitch. To many time last year I thought Bridge and Richards/Zab were to stagnant and that is one of the reasons we couldnt get going. If you go out to dominate a game, full backs needn't worry so much about defending. Look at Maicon, he attacks non-stop because his team will cover him.

I hope we sign the left back of the future in aly cissokho of lyon that everyone seem to have forgotten about,i mean the guy has been the in top form in the past 2 years in the champions league.

He dreams of playing in this league,quick,very strong and an amazing crosser of the ball,like a french maicon but with more years to get even better and also better defensive skills,he would cost around 25m euros but he would be worth it as he would give us about 10 years of good service.
