Too one footed to be a full time winger in my opinion. I know AJ is predominantly left footed but he's not afraid to take it on his right, whereas Kolarov needs to shift his entire body after he controls the ball to make sure it's on his left foot lol

We've tried this before, it doesn't work because he's not a natural winger and isn't athletic or tricky enough.
When he has space and time, he can put in a good cross.

kolarovs crossing at pace
Have to say the boy gets a lot of stick but I am not sure I have ever seen any player at City in 20 years who could put the vicious pacy balls into the box he does. Ultimately today when Silva, Johnson, aguero couldn't quite beat the Blackburn defense kolarovs did setting up two goals perfectly. I would not play kolarovs in games where he is going to be 90% defending or would be up against top top wingers but in games towards the end of the season especially at home his ability to put in balls at pace that can't be defended could make all the difference. I also reckon all round and as a footballer he is a much better player than given Credit for and he has weapons a squad need!

Wonderful to take onto the pitch the positives in Kolarov's game. Tremendous power in his left foot and it would have been nice for that one to have gone in when he chose to kill a half dozen in the family stand.
The reason he gets stick is because he's a defender and his defensive play is usually poor. Yes he's good going forward and from set pieces/crosses, but when the first good thing you say about a defender is his attacking capabilities, it sounds a bit wrong does it not?

Have to admit he had a really good game and some of those crosses were superb but for the big games (like Porto,Rags, Chelsea and rest of Europa) we must play Clichy. Not sure he was MOTM today,for me, Silva, De Jong, Aguero, Zabba, Yaya and Vinny were more worthy candidates.

Outstanding again today. By my recknoning that is 3 goals and 8 assits for the season. We all know he has deficiencies in his game but I hope this maybe the turning point for City fans to be more vocal about the qualities he brings to the team. Its a similar story with Dzeko, attention is paid to his negatives but forget how crucial the 18+ goals will have at the end of the season.
Hopefully some will reconsider there stance about the player as incredibly some still say he useless going forward.
