Shot in the dark here mate but i'm guessing you're a little underwhelmed by this signing?

Not at all.

I just don't know much about him
, and from what I gathered a few days ago there are quite a few who are "underwhelmed" by this signing...

So I'm not sure whether or not I should be too!

Although it is obvious that he'll improve the squad - whatever you so believe.
If you don't know much about football, why did you contribute to the message board?

Well, he's a defender so will probably never really stand out. If you look closely at his game he's very good at organising the back four, likes to keep the ball on the ground, good in the tackle and the air and he's strong and quick.

He'll never set the world alight because he's a defender, but its a good solid signing in an area that needs a player like him.
Seeing as you seem to know more about the man than myself, I'd like to pose a few more questions...

If we were to sign Lescott in the next few days, who do you think would partner him in the middle?

Onuoha or Toure (with Nedum continuously improving his game, and continuing his fine run of form)?

And of course not forgetting we have Kompany - is Toure that big a leap forward?

Lescott would be an excellent partner for him, but so would Ned. Lescott brings that bit of balance of having a left sided central defender, however Toure is good with both feet.

Nedum will be as good as if not better than Toure in the coming years, but needs to work more on how to bring the ball out of defence with confidence. That alone is one thing Toure is very good at.

I love Dunnie but he isnt at the level of Toure. A lot of people say that its an underwhelming signing, but how many defenders would be considered exciting? Its not a postition on the pitch that gets fans perticularly excited, unless you sign a big name like Terry.

Cant believe some of the shit I am reading on here. Is Bluemoon just a meeting place for clueless schoolkids these days ???

Toure is quality, and a step up in class of any other defender at the club.

You're all right, I've come to my senses, Toure was class 5 years ago when Arsenal won the league so he must be a good signing.

Seriously now, when Kompany returns to full fitness and Lescott signs, Toure will be on the bench I can assure you of that. He's nowhere near the standard of either of the aforementioned, not anymore. Good signing for a 3rd/4th choice CB, which is why 16m is ridiculous.

I'm glad he's convinced you but i'm still not completely sure about Kompany as a top class centre half.

It's all a matter of opinion, who knows time may prove youto be a little less informed about the game as you seem to think you are.
