Anyone know if there is anything to the rumours of Kolo going to Lazio? Source = TCM (Tutto Mercatta Web) - are they any good?

Always quite liked Kolo, rated him very highly at le arse and thought that in his cameo at RB he looked very assured. Not overly certain what he's done wrong!

e been wondering why can't we play Kolo alongside his brother YaYa in DM?
Because... you know what, I'm not gonna answer that.

You know what I don't think it's that bad an idea. He has always been very assured on the ball. As someone mentioned l, he was very capable attacking wise at RB and he is combination play with Yaya was inspired that game.

I believe he started his career further up the field, but Wenger converted him to a defender as he wanted technically sound defenders. If Yaya had started at Arsenal he probably would have been a defender as well.

I wouldn't be opposed to Kolo staying this year (final year on contract?) if we can't get a decent replacement. Only problem would be the ACON, what a crock of shit by the way having it running two yrs in a row..

Anyway, when ACON is on we could use Boyata, Rekik and Savic as cover perhaps - just pray Kompany stays fit!

It's also being reported on Eurosport/Yahoo..."Eurobot: Lazio have declared an interest in buying Kolo Toure from Manchester City"...but no source quoted.

Still has the pace , experience etc to be a valuable asset and contributor this season.

Whether RM sees it the same way and whether he wants regular football which he could get at most clubs in England and abroad is another matter altogether.

Like AJ he has to find the right balance of ambition and playing time.

He has more premiership medals than most of his teammates so unless the lure of brotherly love combined with wanting and succeeding to replace an out of form back four or back two is what will motivate him to stay is the question he needs to answer.

Especially if Jack Rodwell can play in that position, Kolo can do it better.

I have a strong feeling that Rodwell will be required in the back four at some stage this season but for me provided he wants to stay Mancini would be very wise to keep Kolo and play him from the outset in a number of games in the premiership this season and in Europe where hopefully we will get past the group stage this season.
