also worth noting Kompany is the first defender in there. Good to see him finally get recognition before other good but lesser defenders that usually get talked up over him.

Picking 8 players a year to add is going to seriously devalue this list within 5 years it should be 1/2 a year if you want it to become prestigious.

Is Ian Wright really one of the 16 best players ever in the prem? Great player and ruthless finisher, can't argue with his numbers but he's not someone who ever comes to mind for me when you're thinking of the best ever players, quite a few I'd name before Wright came to mind.

Yaya was nominated for this round but wasn’t picked. Surely he will be next time — true legend. As for El Mago and Fernandinho, they cannot be inducted until they retire. When they do retire, hopefully they’ll both be in the Hall of Fame.
