Kompany calls on Premier League clubs to drop ticket prices

It about time someone at the club spoke out .What he said is not rocket science and its only what has been debated on here for years.
I watched the chase last night a girl who is. Southampton fan said she used to be a season ticket holder with her dad but they could no longer aford them so they only go to cup games now as it is cheaper .Sounds familiar or what

I wrote to KAM and told him build it and they will come, this being a reference to the stadium expansion but the major proviso was the ticket price. The biggest factor is the average age of the PL fan, younger fans are both priced out of attending and unable to get tickets. There is a trend happening empty seats are seen for most games now and they need to wake-up before it's too late, going to matches is a habit and once it stops it harder to get get fans back. City increased prices by 10% for this season and this was a major own goal I hope that they got the message for next season they should reduce them by 30% across the board and the following season a further reduction stop the greed as the ticket revenue is a small percentage of overall revenue. Well done to Vinny for speaking out. I never got a reply, even Swales would reply, so it was disappointing
For some season ticket holders it cost effefective to get one and not to attend the games they dont fancy.
If match day ticket prices were drasticaly reduced in some areas of the ground for some games .any spares would soon be snapped up
.Only a certain breed of fan will spend £40-£50 to buy a ticket to attend a night game going straight after work knowing he or she is going to be freezing cold and soaking wet and probably stuck in trafic on the way home .

It's not just the cost of the ticket, traffic, lack of adequate parking near ground, train fares, lack of transport to and from ground, high food and drink prices, ridiculous cost of merchandise all conspire to fleece fans or put them off. I recently bought some corporate hospitality at City for some clients, dont get me wrong the food and service was excellent, but the cost was £1000 for four of us for a category C game. Far too expensive and hence that's why I get emailed every week about further corporate sales, they cant sell them out.

My ticket for tomorrow is £20. Next Saturday vs Newcastle for the exact same seat I had to pay £51. Because of this I can only afford to go to 10-15 max. Kompany is absolutely right, fans are being priced out and clubs cater for day trippers who dont mind spending £60-70 for a ticket as they probably spend at least another £100+ in the club shop or on food or drinks. Me? I pay for my ticket, buy a program and have 2 pints

Its about time people in the game opened their eye and looked at the empty seats at most games in all grounds. Time to give something back to the supporters. In Germany supporting a team is probably a third of the cost.
However, how many sold empty seats would we see if tickets were dirt cheap? The actual crowd v the paying crowd on Tuesday night was noticeably different? Also if say season tickets are sold cheaply to people who want to pick and choose which games they attend then there are ultimately less available for people who want to go every week? I think there is a balance somewhere

I wanted to go in 1894 bar or 93-20 for the Leicster game .It was sold out but they offered me another lounge at a discounted rate of £150 plus vat.probably would have been excellent but i declined

Use to be a season ticket holders years ago but now only manage the odd game per season. The only reason being ticket prices, wanting to go to Newcastle game with my son but will cost £70 ish pound far too much., and that' without traveling expenses on top. Totally out of my price frame for one game of 90 mins. Hate not being able to go to games and I'm sure there are thousands in the same boat. I' sure there wouldn' be many empty seats if tickets were a lot cheaper.

It's scandalous that most Premier League clubs could allow free admission for every supporter in a season for the price that top clubs pay for a 4th choice centre back. If the broadcasters included a reasonable ticket-cap in the contract for the TV rights, you could get 70,000 through the gate for most teams, meaning a better atmosphere, meaning a better TV product.

I was quite surprised to see that Burnley has sold out at weekend and sold out with a week to go. Lots of PL games don't do that. All down to pricing. I agree the fanbase is there if priced correctly. City could easily set the standard here with cheaper pricing. It does not seem our wonderful FA want to.
