Kompany injured?

Don't think komps injury situation is anything the club physios can be blamed for
it's his style of play,he's still playing like a 1990s centre half.
Modern defenders need to stay on their feet as much as possible and try to
Manouvere strikers where they want them, komps still wants to dive in at every
opportunity to show his commitment.
Twice this season he's injured himself once celebrating the other time lunging in
on the halfway line when it wasn't needed.
Whether he can adjust his style at this point in his career is debatable but if he doesn't
we will have more unnecessary injuries coming.

What are Chelsea doing that we are not? Can't recall them having an injury crisis in recent years.

I reckon it could be due to the different styles the two teams play with. Despite our swift attacks we can often look manic with our play whereas Chelsea play with a more slow and controlled passing game. Its just a thought.

I've just read a little interview with Sagna where he says 'but hopefully Kompany will be ready for Crystal Palace'

Surely this is just some kind of mistranslation or something? Is vinny about to do a zabaleta?
He means the away game ;)

Can any of the physio experts on here shed light on how they could possibly decide that Kompany would be fit to play on Saturday? Having made the decision that he was fit to play against Leicester, and then being proved wrong, what basis would there be for them to repeat that decision?

They weren't wrong that he was fit against Leicester, he was, and he showed no sign of the injury, until it went again about 65 minutes in. If he had been training normally, and not feeling it, he was fit, I would imagine he'd had scans that showed nothing, and he obviously thought it was fine, it just went again, not uncommon.

Our entire training/warm up routine/fitness and injury management along with reintroduction of players needs looking at. For a world class operation these areas seem very poor.

Even ignoring the Komps injury we've already had TWO players injured just warming up before matches, you'd normally expect one injury like that ever couple of seasons.

As Kompany seems to be back in training (judging from the photo on the new player training thread). Maybe he will be back for the Palace match.

I'd give him at least another week though as we don't need to rush him back with Mangala and MD playing pretty well together.

That picture was taken before they flew out to rome unfortunately, remember seeing it then.
