I have a feeling Mancini will give him the responsibility to do this on Shrek saturday, he applied it at Fulham and he had Zamora in his back pocket all game, which isn't easy to do i don't think, man on form who was outplayed.

Zamora is a quality player and a complete handful, vinny had him all day, i wouldn't mind seeing him stick vinny up against Rooney.
 
just kick him in his dodgy ankle a couple fo times, no need to man mark him. I know its not the right thing to do, but remember how they targeted SWP last season. The scummy wankers deserve everything they get
 
Wont happen. Kompany only man-marked Zamora because Zamara's style of play results in centre backs being close to him all the time. He just backs into you, holds you off with his arms, then recieves the ball and lays it off. He very rarely moves away from the centre backs. He likes to be touch tight to them. Rooney on the other hand, will always look to drift around. Sometimes he'll drop deep, and i'll bet you any money, Kompany will not be following him around as he's drifting. Vinnie will remain in the team shape, very rarely more than 10-15 yards away from Toure. When Rooney pulls off the back 4, it will be De Jong's responsibility to position himself in areas to block any passes to Shrek. If he fails to cut off the passing angle, it will then be his responsibility to snap him.

Are you German? Typical of you to say that.

The main threat is the crosses from the flanks, this is where most of Rooneys ammunition has come from. Lets try and keep them out of the game, and hopefully cut Rooneys supply.
 
I've got a strong feeling that NDJ's going to go right through Shrek at some point, ruling the ugly bastard out of the World Cup and becoming universally reviled by those boneheads at the Sun. Can't wait.

I truly hope De Jong understands this and doesn't let anyone down.
