Looks shite. Why can't the people in charge that do these things just say: "I want a statue" .Not somethin where you shit in a bucket, sprinkle it with stardust then bus load a bunch of southerners to pay/masturbate over it. Shite IMO
You sound like the type who has their day ruined when we release a kit with blue shorts.
Yeah, there does seem to be a minority opinion. But I like it, it captures the moment well. 50yrs from now it will speak volumes.Looks shite. Why can't the people in charge that do these things just say: "I want a statue" .Not somethin where you shit in a bucket, sprinkle it with stardust then bus load a bunch of southerners to pay/masturbate over it. at the MCG in Australia they have statues of players of cricket, rugby and aussie rules around stadium, same with tennis players at the rod lever tennis stadium down the road as well, if memory serves me rightSaid it before but this doesn’t sit comfortably with me for some reason, I think it is too soon. I don’t dispute the contribution they’ve made, clearly some of the best players to pull on the shirt.
My gripe is we should also celebrate our amazing pre-takeover history, why not statues for the likes of Eric Brook, Colin Bell, Francis Lee, Peter Doherty etc etc. Just seems a bit too soon as I said, especially considering our long history.
Either way it’s well deserved & we were truly privileged to watch these lads for 10+ years in the blue shirt.
Definitely look better up close to them especially with the Manchester sun shining down on them. They have grown on me for sure. CTIDThought they looked fantastic in the sunshine with blue skies yesterday. And will look great at night games.
You need to get out more. They are magnificent.
Visit the Kelpies and I would defy anybody to not marvel at how jaw dropping they are.
He has used exactly the same technique on our statues.
The Kelpies are flooded in blue lights at night and that is something which makes them even more jaw dropping and will be the same at the Etihad.
Thats bollocks Phil. :-)Yes and Kompany's pose should have bee on his knees in front of the North Stand arms out wide after scoring v the rags.
This looks Ike a knock off Angel of the North
I reckon you’re right. Just outside entrance H. Programme booth there at the momentNot a big fan of statues, especially given to players so soon after leaving the club. But, they do look good. I was thinking they were going to be the boring bronze looking statues, but they’re unique and different. I’m assuming Sergio’s will go to the left of Vinnies.
If Kev keeps playing at the standard he’s playing at, will the club keep dishing out statues?
His wife said it was best pose they could have chosen too.Thats bollocks Phil. :-)
It’s an iconic pose of Vinny after the Leicester game, his final game at the Etihad, where he scored his greatest goal which ultimately won the league.
She was hardly likely to say anything else tbh lolHis wife said it was best pose they could have chosen too.
Fantastic choice by City. One of our greatest goals of all time to win us the league, in his final home game. In-cre-di-ble.This is a screenshot of the game in which VK done the pose.
Do you have one for Silva? I've been trying to figure it out. This is a screenshot of the game in which VK done the pose.
