One thing I'll never quite get over is not getting to watch Merlin play for us again. He was my favourite ever City player and it's hard to think of someone who could replace that. The finished products look great.

It does. I love the way, he is in motion, ball at his feet and yet he is looking up. Searching for that killer ball. It so captures the essence of David as does the one of Vinnie.

I think the statues do two very special players justice and I'm looking forward to seeing them up close. A big thumbs up to the sculptor because he's managed to encapsulate the brilliance of club legends Kompany and Silva with his metalwork that does them proud.

arent we still having two of them back today to do bit of talk with them, maybe coming out on the pitch for a standing ovation? I know their clubs might not allow them, but they dont play today...

given the pre recorded short interviews with them that might not be the case. :(

would have loved it if camera shows them in VIP section celebrating our goals vs Arse.

Don't think so, at least not for a good while. The Kelpies which are constructed in the same manner have kept their original steel colour.

I just watched the video, in tears: it is impossible to describe the feeling that these two players have given to me, all tied in with a history of raising my son with blue blood coursing through his veins; what utter magic.
