I heard that they think the reason for his recurring injuries is that he is slightly knock kneed which puts undue pressure on the calf muscle. one of the things they are trying is a raised insole which corrects the knee position and relieves the pressure. Hopefully this will solve the problem.

There's no way this wouldn't of been discovered earlier if that were the main reason behind it. Watching him play and even from training clips he puts his body under a lot of strain with very unnatural movements and stretches, how many times per game do we see him making last ditch stretched interceptions? I wouldn't say he's necessarily injury prone it's just something that's bound to happen when you put your body under that kind of pressure.
