Would cost far too much. If we're going for a top tier CB, we should go for Godin.
Godin was our first choice in the summer but turned us down, hence us getting Otamendi instead.

He doesnt have the leading/organising qualities, which are must have traits if we dip in the market for a CB...neither has Stones or many of the other names being bandied around

We need to see the extent of kompanys injury before we go BIG on a CB in January.
Denayer has a big future with us and that needs to be taken into account too. If it looks as though kompany will be missing the majority of the season and it looks as though it will be a constant worry, then yes it will need addressing, but that is something that will probably have to be rectified in the summer!
Denayer, otamendi, kompany and another top CB in the summer would be ideal, with Kompany being relied upon a lot less hopefully!
In January I would like for a short term solution. Somebody who is just a safe pair of no nonsense hands! Easier said than done though as I can't really think of anyone off hand

Nor do I. Wasn't long since the Arse fans were slating him, or was that Vermaelen(?), and how did he manage to escape two yellows yesterday if not a straight red, and at least one pen. There's a dozen CBs I can think of that would be in front of him in the queue for my affections.

Centre half in January would be awful. Players rarely settle quickly enough. Wait until the summer move MD out bring in Denayer. A good manager might sort Mangala out.
