Kurt Zouma | Fined £250k by club and cats removed by RSPCA

Whether an animal is 'domesticated' or not, they will all feel the same pain and fears. I don't buy into that argument.
Up to you, but as the boring saying goes, two wrongs don't make a right and turning on, and belittling peoples anger at this incident doesn't help. The "I'm a bigger animal lover than you" brigade are unwittingly diluting the disgust at this vile person.

All this proves is that we hold footballers to a higher moral standard than the rest of society. If it was you or I, we'd go through the process of the law and still turn up for work the next day and be expected to carry out our job. I think he should have been dropped but Moyes decided to pick him to start.
The world is full of dodgy, cruel and senseless wankers and there's nothing anyone can do about it.

Roy Keane crippled a fellow professional and yet he is watched and listened to by millions every week and may yet go back into management.
Joey Barton stubbed a cigar out in a young professional footballers eye and yet we still employed him.
Joey Barton continues to assault everyone and yet he is still employed in football.
Luis Suarez bit a fellow professional but wasn't sacked.
Countless footballers get done for drink driving and no one bats an eyelid, (Yaya Toure for one)
I could go on but I will just say most of you are over reacting. Yes animal cruelty is wrong but look at who we forgive/ignore because it suits us.

Sadly this is true, I said it earlier mate because this has never happened and it's a shocker. But someone getting in a car absolutely bladdered repeats itself over and over again. What's the worst offence?

I agree with your main point but I do think the Zouma video (especially with the child's involvement) has had more impact with the public and you can't ignore that and the possible damage it can cause to a club' s reputation. You could say the same about the Mason Greenwood audio. I am not suggesting the two incidents are equally serious but I don't think you can ignore the public backlash in these cases.
There was something particulary sadistic about the Zouma video that made it worse than, for example, the recent incident where a rider punched her horse ( that was a quick loss of temper). That woman (a teacher) lost her job and was prosecuted.
As I've been saying in this thread, it's all about levels of acceptance. Let's say for instance that we were interested in one of the most sought after strikers in the world. It emerges that he's done the dirty on his girlfriend. A very small percentage percentage of us would want us to steer clear of him. If he broke COVID rules, it'd probably be a bit higher. Drink driving, higher still. Me, personally, if Haa...this hypothetical striker had done what Zouma did, I wouldn't want him anywhere near the club.

Tbf mate there were plenty of nobbers on here that wanted foden hung drawn and quartered in the high court of BM/twitter justice.

social media world we live, outraged for 5 mins before we move on to the next news story to get outraged again - Jimmy Carr and Zouma this week, be a couple others next week.

If people keep standing up to these wankers, calling them out on social media or better still to their face where possible, then there is certainly something we can all do about it.

The first step is raising awareness that something is unacceptable behaviour.

Like the recent Raith Rovers U-turn on signing David Goodwillie, for example ? Do we as a society, or WHU fans in this case, give our tacit approval to animal cruelty by allowing Zouma to continue his career basically unhindered or is there such a public backlash that he is eventually forced out ? Idk where the line in the sand is drawn. If it was one of our players that did what Zouma did, would we want them to leave the club ?

If people feel outraged by a **** kicking a cat then I think they are entitled to feel that way without one of your usual boring arguments about social media turning everyone into hateful cunts.
Listen, Zouma is a twat for what he did, everything else being posted is just noise.
Maybe folk will move on after 5 minutes but it doesn’t alter the facts that Zouma is still a twat.

Yes. I don’t want to support anyone who abuses animals.

It turns out Zouma could be in bigger shit than we imagined. Tough new animal cruelty laws were passed in France last year and French citizens can be prosecuted even if the offence occurred abroad. Link below.
