Great performance tonight barring the slip there at the end for their goal.

I hope the groin injury is nothing serious.

Pep Guardiola: “We are going to check it out (Kyle Walker’s injury).

The federation (FA) needs to reflect. I know the show must go on but this is not normal.

In England you don’t protect the players. You can’t play every two days.”
He's absolutely right it isn't normal playing every 2 days . What is the FA thinking about ? Meanwhile Barca and Real etc are resting their players at this time of the season

Because Sky own the league not the FA. Sky dictate everything along with BT they bring the money in they bring in the global audience etc and have flogged the idea that it is the greatest league in the world

Unfortunately they dictate when the games should be played - the FA dont have the backbone

Im afraid you're right mate . Very very sad indeed .

Yep...the kind of scenario of selling your soul to the devil. Sky come along (devil) and hit the FA with untold riches, the FA see it as a way to increase their coffers but must lose control of something in return

The devil wins

Yeah
And who is used as collateral ? The players . YOu can see what pep is thinking - " I can only take off 2 ' fairly weary' midfield players and one defender tonight and must risk leaving Fab , Kyle and Aguero on the pitch . " We've seen the injury list growing in other clubs - not just City . For what ? Riches .

Yeah

Exactly...the FA wont change it though, even though a winter break would benefit ALL the clubs and the national team. But wait a minute....Sky dont want that, nope what they want is certain premier league games played abroad instead

Incredible signing. I was definitely a fan. He locks down the right side to the point that you're totally calm when anything breaks that way on a counter.

Something I noticed today and might have been building up for a while for me...does anyone else get the feeling the team kind of goes out of their way NOT to pass him the ball when he overlaps? Probably nothing but just a notion that crossed my mind.

In regards to Pep's comments about fixture congestion at this time of year, I would suggest the FA at least allow more substitutions than the normal 3 as a safety measure for the players. If there's 2 games 48 hours apart have a rule that allows 5-6 substitutions for those 2 games, that way along with normal rotation not many players will have to do 90mins in both games.

Having said that though it might not be enough for teams lower down the table or teams who have already picked up a significant amount of injuries.

Interesting point about substitutions.

Yep. We re-start the Champions League in Feb with a totally obliterated squad, whereas our European rivals are rested up and ready to go.
