Worth pointing out that he didn't post it and has absolutely nowt to do with any of it. His management appoints a social media company, they do all that stuff for him. Guarantee his management also no doubt were livid when they saw it and told them to take it down.

Edit - In fact, in the interest of fairness to Walker so he doesn't get too much hate, I know that is all true ^
But who is ultimately responsible for that “team”? Since it’s his name on the Twitter account, not a single person in the world outside our fan base will even consider this “team” of idiots he’s got working for him and will just associate it with Walker, including all the Liverpool players it fires up for the rest of the season.

Everyone went mad when Yaya’s agent was talking shit saying he speaks for Yaya. Well this “team” (a fucking team? fuck me the world’s gone mad!) of idiots speak for Kyle, simple as that.

Also tells you a lot about footballers that they’d have a “team” of idiots posting their social media stuff for them. Do any footballers have a personality of their own?

If they do, then some demonstrate that they have no common sense or intelligence.

Social media whores are quite frankly embarrassing imo.

The are loads of moaners on here who i presume are of a certain age that dont understand that social media = marketing = $$. My only issue is that said player backs up the talk with the performances. Only a few can in this day and age.

Players have a lived a certain lifestyle in each generation. It just so happens that phones/social media are a massive part of inclusion and communication for under 30s in 2019. Its when a player goes AWOL and says something offensive then there is trouble. Although we have freedom of speech in this country on certain issues, many footballers dont have that luxury. Walker was saying something every city fan was thinking on Wednesday night. The gap is 5 not 7.

Clever marketers cash in on those likes, shares, retweets for money and sponsorship. The "InSANE" hashtag does annoy me as we pronounce Leroy Sane differently to Insane IMO.

As a FOC I certainly do not get the social media shite , and make no apology for that.

Players because they are in the " public eye " have a responsibility imo not to put out shit which is either offensive or provocative to others . They enjoy the " celebrity " which their position in modern society seems to lap up , but that doesn't mean that they should behave irresponsibly or offensively.

But I agree that they should be able to produce good performances on the pitch before pissing about for their self-gratification or " likes " on some inane shite for juveniles .

FOC's unite .

Er... yes it does. What kind of fucking mental logic is that? Are you honestly still blaming Walker for something he literally didn't do? It's his management's fault if anything. That's like me saying I'll hold you entirely accountable as an individual for whatever anyone you work with does, even if you had absolutely no involvement/no clue of what's happened.

If I employed them, and am therefore responsible for them, and they are speaking on my behalf, building my 'brand', with my name on it, then yes, the buck stops with me.

What fucking mental logic.

EDIT: Just had a look, and I'd suggest if his SM is run by a company, his bio should state as such. It doesn't. Fuck me right?

His agent employs them. Walker's not out there cutting deals with social media companies himself. I agree that there's a small, small level of responsibility, but he clearly isn't directly responsible for that tweet. He had no idea it was about to happen. He trusts his agent/management to oversee these things as he's an asset worth tens of millions of pounds. The company they hired made a wrong judgement call. I'm sure Kyle Walker is as frustrated with that as we are. I know his management were fuming.

Every footballer uses a social media company. No footballer has it in their bio. Pretty much 95% of businesses outsource their social media too. And their photography, and their PR, and usually their entire creative process. They don't have it in their bios either. Whether that's right or not, I don't know, but it's just the way it is in 2019. Get angry at that process, sure, but I still think its exceptionally harsh to make Walker totally accountable for that tweet. It's an old-fashioned, slightly naive view of how the world works in the digital era, in my personal opinion.

The bigger profile a player gets, the more people are involved with his day to day business, which makes mistakes like this more or less inevitable. Life innit. Frustrating, but certainly nothing to crucify the lad about. After all, it was just a silly joke...he didn't actually say anything offensive, quite literally - someone else did :)

Needs to be benched at least for the next two games.

Go with Danilo and Delph then bring Mendy on if available.

Walker is a liability right now. Making too many mistakes to be starting.

By the way, it's also worth pointing out that the club absolutely loves, and encourages, the players being active and entertaining on social media. The official account always retweets a big Mendy meme, they sell #TheSharkTeam tshirts at the club shop, and today there's a clip going around of Bernardo soaking Mendy with waterguns during a promo - filmed and released with the club's consent. And the reason is obvious, it's all money. Fan engagment, publicity, merchandise - they love tapping into it.

So I would say it'd be pretty ridiculous for the club to then turn around and say to Walker his social media lot can't post a mild joke on his account when they'd have absolutely loved it and capitalised on it if it'd gone down well.

Agreed.

Playing utter garbage and throwing away 3 points vs a tinpot
and next day laughing about the opponent team extending their lead
might look a tiny little bit stoopid.

Not a mild joke, City players can do better than that.
Sometimes it's better to shut up and concentrate on the own job,
that's why the tweet didn't survive too long.

Maybe it was a fantastic distraction tactic to take away title race pressure from himself and his team mates.
We'll certainly see the outcome in the next 3 matches.

We don’t need to give pool extra reasons to be motivated ..he tried to do just that ...really no need for that tweet
