Kyle Walker joins Burnley (pg5)

My ex-boss who is a Burnley fan is absolutely buzzing with this signing and I can totally understand why. He really could make the difference for them staying up next season in my opinion. A really good signing for them.

I think Walker is one of the best defensive FBs ever, and not just in the PL. Neither Neymar, nor Mbappe nor Vin Jr were happy to play against him.

His off the pitch behavior was grotesque though. Making him captain was a mistake that contributed to the malaise last season.

One on one he was very good. However, he had a tendency to lose concentration when the ball was on the other side which did cost us a few goals, especially in his latter years with us.

Hope he has an average season for them.

He was pivotal to our success, by fucking hell what a wanker of a fella, should have never been captain, all those ridiculous headlines and then abandoning us when the going got tough.
Agree completely, he is a proper **** of a human.

The fact that milan didnt want to keep him tells me enough about how shite he will be next season

We should have put a clause in saying they had to pay us if they didn’t sign him permanently. Smart move by the rags on Sancho.

You have to give Kyle Walker credit for wanting to play football. It would have been easy to have stayed in the background and taken the money. Kyle first went to AC Milan to play, and now he's going to Burnley. He wants to play football at a good level. Good Luck to him.

The players made him captain.

Yes he left us in bad circumstances, but he was an absolutely pivotal part of the best team to have ever played top flight football in this country.

He’s one of a lot of players that I really couldn’t give a toss what they do post us or in leaving us, they contributed more than enough and I’ll be looking back in the future and only remember how fucking good he was when he and us were at our best.

He’s clearly a **** off the pitch, but what a player he was for us on it for a long time. All the best Kyle.
He wasn't a pivotal part of the best team ever, the first choice back 4 for almost all that season was Ake, Dias, Stones Akanji. He only became a starting regular the next season after Pep bizarrely begged him to stay and made him captain the following summer after barely playing him in the back end of the prior season

SORRY

Sorry to disagree but frankly that is a lot of cobblers.

Depends which you deem best team ever. I think by best team in English history the poster is referring to 2017-19 (100 points, domestic quad - both achievements never matched before or since).

Also, no City defender started more than 24 league games in treble season. Walker started 22. He did play second fiddle in CL that season though.
