Past windows we ended up spending a lot of money on players who weren't good enough.

This Summer most fans wish-list of players is being signed, sealed and delivered.

If you ask most fans who was the most impressive visiting player they saw at City last season quite a few would say Bernado Silva. And we bought him. Across the board we've gone for the best players in their positions. We might not get Mbappe. Prhaps we could have done if we'd have put all our eggs in one basket, but that would be high risk. last season we had some of the best quality players in the Premier League, but the team was weakened because we also had some very average players and a squad is as good as its weakest link. Txiki bought Jesus, Sane and now Bernado Silva. If you're as old as me, you can remember previous owners spending record money and buying players like Stave Daley, Kevin Reeves, and Steve Mackenzie.
For the last few seasons iv been increasingly worried who was out there, and available, to replace David Silva when the time comes. Isco seemed the logical option, but never seemed obtainable.
Remember turning to the old boy who sits next to me at the Monico game and him saying to me that lad there is the one we have to have, I agreed but thought they would be a real scramble for his signature from Real/Barca etc, when this place went crazy with rumours and the announcement came, I was in a really impressed with the efficiency of Tikki and co.
I'm really excited to see how we look by the start of this season, think there's something very special on the horizon.

my thoughts to a tee. I was stressing over Dave until we played Monaco. cant believe we got Bernard in so efficiently.

I watched Bernado Silva play for Portugal yesterday. Got injured 1st half. Played out on the right, but some of the little things he does on the ball remind me so much of D SIlva. The way he receives the ball, and turns and makes space for himself. It's as if Bernardo Silva has based his game on him.

Last season might not go down as David Silva's best, but I realised last season that for all the KDBs, Sanes, and other big name players, David Silva is the one who makes us play, and when he's not there you know it straight away.

I hope B Silva gets time. he should do given the options. David Silva is really tough, and very competitive. B Silva is taller but doesn't seem to have as much aggression. He might need some time to get to grips with the physical aspects. I don't think it will be a big deal though as City teams always have 65% possession.

he wont match Dave but he's the closest I've seen to date. Dave is quite simply our best ever player . if Bernardo gets even close we will have been very lucky.

Not sure if it'd work but can you imagine the passing game with Silva, Bernardo, Kev and Gudogen all firering fit at the same time feeding the likes of Serg/Jesus/sane and even possibly Sanchez...its wet dream football.

Silva is the most under rated player we have had. Toure, AGuero, Kompany always got the credit they deserve. I know some think even they didn't get the credit, but they still have plenty of plaudits. Silva doesn't get quite as much credit. I wonder why that is? Perhaps it's because passing in the English game isn't quite as appreciated. I don't know the reason. I saw an interview with Edin Dzeko a few days ago, and he was asked who was the best player you played with and he said Silva.

No signs he's fading though which is really good for us. We need to win some trophies for him this season.

B. Silva will be our best signing this season bar none if he gets anywhere even close to the magician. He looks capable though.

You mean Modric and Bale who both went to Real Madrid for £30M and £90M respectively?

There is a reason why he got those fees and its because both where brilliant and Spurs are a selling club.

There is also a reason why we dont receive fees like that and its because we keep our best players because as a club we are a level above Spurs right now with very different aims.

Levy is that good he managed to snap Jesus up from under our noses yeah for a bit less than what we paid except he didn't did he?

He managed to persuade Sane and Sterling? Nope!

Aguero fancy a spell in North London does he persuaded by levy who will get him on the cheap? You know the answer.

He sells their best players, that's it and he sells them mostly because those players hold the power and they want out and all that levy does is what any other chairman will do and thats agree a fee.

Precisely why I mentioned Chelsea and them being able to get ridiculous sums for their players who weren't world beaters, which you ignored to respond to.

Specifically,
Luiz - 50m
Mata - 37m
Lukaku - 30m.

All fringe players at the time, 2 years ago. We sell ours for 10-15m in today's market.
