To be fair, I also think that looking at the England team, and comparing it to the best international teams in the world, RB is one of the best positions to have an England international in.

England - Walker.

Spain - Carvajal. The best in the world. Better than Walker.

Germany - Rudy? Walker is better. Kimmich is better than Walker but doesn't want to be RB.

Brazil - Alves. Presumably second choice to Walker

Argentina - Mercado. Walker is better.

France - Sidibé. Walker is better.

Belgium - Meunier. Walker is better.

Italy - Darmian. Walker is better.
Where would you rate Bellerin? Because he's also homegrown. And only 22.

Incidentally, who's gonna be our third choice keeper this year?

If Levy is demanding £60m - just walk away and leave him with an unhappy player. I want Walker but we have to protect the integrity of our future transfer dealings - paying roughly double what a player is worth will haunt us for a long time. We must have a plan B - so we'd best dust it off.
is the right answer.

Walker's not just English but he's in the right position too. I don't think there's any other position where an Englishman is as close to being the best in the world. Walker's not the best, but there aren't many ahead of him and they aren't that much better.

Compared to say, central midfield, where the likes of Kroos, Thiago, Modric etc. are on a completely different planet to their english equivalent...Henderson.

Walker better than Meunier? Not even close.

common sense mate!;) our shelves are empty and Spurs/Monaco know this....in my opinion, this is the main reason why agreeing a fee is seemingly so difficult. Txiki playing a game of poker in which we showed our hand when the summer transfer window opened. (releasing 4 fullbacks- if you include Navas) If we want both Mendy and Walker is seems very likely we'll have to pay above market value, that just how I see it! Having 4 fullbacks, who's contracts all end in the same window and then loan out your only "young" backups, is just asking for trouble...Not trying to have a go at the way we do business but we've dug our own hole in this situation. Hopefully when/if Alves signs it might put alittle more control back into our corner, as we can use the fact we have our starting RB already in the squad and might make Spurs worry about us pulling our offer...
Walker & Mendy didn't fall off the shelf these deals were done weeks ago, we don't just phone Walker up & say ok mate you fancy City & £150-000 ok then we will ask Levy in July????

These were sorted & Levy & Monaco know what there getting it's all just a game to please the fans & make the players look wankers.

Walker is on a 4 year deal you think we can rock up & just take him, don't fucking think so it's done & dusted just down to formality's & Levy showing some fist pumping.

Mendy was also sorted & fee arranged again just the last fine details before he ends to the CFA.

Anyone who doesn't think Walker is quality is stupid & ignorant he is the best RB in England.

Exactly this, if we have to then go out and buy a world class foreign right back and sacrifice Kolarov and Bravo's place in the squad to meet the foreign quota. I was fully behind giving Bravo a chance but a right back is far more important than a back up keeper.

Bellerin is nowhere near as good as Walker. He was dropped last season for Oxlade Chamberlain for crying out loud. He might be good enough one day, but right now he's Just a pace merchant with decent ability on the ball except in the final third where Arsenal joke about his crossing like we used to joke about Navas'
