Kyle Walker

Walker reminds me too much of Kola and lacks the mobility and attacking threat that I thought we were looking for in our full backs.

He is a bit of a ruthless twat though and we are lacking a bit of that amongst this group of players.

It's the other way around. Decent going forward, v dodgy at the back.

I personally will be disappointed if we sign Walker because I think it's likely that Spurs will want more than £40m for him. I would prefer either Mendy, Fabinho or Bellerin.

You could make the argument that we have not made a quality defensive signing since Clichy signed in 2011 for £7m.

It isn't going to be a sensible price with Walker but we do need new full backs. Walker is a very quick defender he does remind me of Micah Richards (good and bad).

Mendy is a left back, Fabinho says he isnt a full back and dont think Bellerin is available. I also think at least one of our new signings needs to be homegrown and right back or possibly keeper are the only positions with homegrown players available and good enough to get in our first team.

I hope we start the season with walker and Alex Sandro as our full backs. If we do then we have already improved big time! With a fit kompany, stones and otamendi fighting for CB positions and kolarov can play there as well then we are set imo for defence. Ederson behind them and I would be happy.

Thanks for clarifying Fabinho's and Mendy's natural positions.

If we were to offer over £35m to Arsenal for Bellerin, I believe they would be tempted to sell. Despite being 5 years Walker's junior, Bellerin is already of a similar quality to him in my view. They both are explosive going forward but suspect defensively.

We also haven't bought an English player at their peak who's become a regular starter since we brought in Barry, Lescott and arguably Milner. It might be something of a cliche, but Pep has already spoken about having a core of English players if possible (although admittedly while bitching about the price of them).
