Quality singing pace and assists however I would just love us to wrap up 2 or 3 early signings to send out a strong message , maybe a big reveal in the first week

It's going to be almost inpossible for us to get these deals done and dusted quickly as the clubs we buy from will want to get a replacement lined up before it goes through. Especially the likes of Juventus, Monaco, Barcelona if we end up buying off them.

Absolutely no way that this deal is already done. I think it'll get done but we're missing ourselves if we think it'll be announced any time soon.

I think Walker is a good fullback, an improvement by a long way on what we've got...But still miles behind the likes of, Marcelo, Alba, Alaba, Sandro, Alves, Lahm level and so on. I think Rose is a much better FB too. I don't mind Walker coming in at all but I can't pretend I think he's an elite level fullback, especially considering what we'll pay for him. It is what it is though and I think he'll be effective at least. Just not really enthused by him personally.

I totally agree with you on this one. There are probably better RB (who probably are cheaper too) but with Walker he will not take much time to settle at the club with him knowing the league.

You're arguing with a crowd that doesn't exist

This is an entirely fictional group of people. No one in this thread has said that.

All people have said is that they'd prefer other options like Semedo or Bellerin ahead of Walker. I don't agree with them but it's a perfectly valid opinion to have.

No one, and I really do mean no one has said they'd rather have Jesus Navas play RB than Walker, Or that they'd not take Walker if he was the one we end up with, so stop pretending they have.

Nobody has said they'd rather have Navas, plenty have said they don't rate Walker and/or aren't enthused by the fact we've signed him. Fair dos, it's still stupid though.

Further, nobody has mentioned Bellerin or Semedo in days on here. Instead we have a few pages of mindless verbal diarrhoea about how Walker isn't as good as is billed, how Pep doesn't know which players are Pep players and people theorycrafting that the reason that some select posters are so strongly anti-Walker is racism.

I notice you weren't so inclined to police the thread while all of that, or the inane Kelechi Iheanacho arguments, were going on.

None of those players play in the Premier League and none of them are English. Rose fits the bill, but he's a left back by day and sick note by night.

It's clear Pep wants Walker for RB, I'm sure even you can admit that much. It's not the end of discussion, but that clearly counts for a lot.

Walker coming in immediately strengthens us at Right back position, he's an upgrade on anyone we have in that position (pains me to say it Zaba) so for that reason alone I'm happy with the signing. The other point being that he is English and as we all know, at present there is a severe lack of top class English players. We need to comply with the quota and bringing in Walker helps with that.

Is he as good a full back as those that have recently won the Champions League? No, but the same can be said of any English player in any position. We have to comply with the quota and I'd rather have an English full back taking up one of the places than someone further up the pitch. Sterling has done ok this season but isn't it a world beater and looking at other English players in the league, it still remains to be seen if Dele Alli or Harry Kane can cut it in the Champions League, despite fantastic domestic form.

His size & athleticism, which we're not alowed to mention, may turn out an advantage in the Premier League compared to some of those, if Pep can get a bit more out of him as a footballer.

Walker is very fit and can run fast all game long but is a bit of a headless chicken and not a great footballer - Clichy with a right foot. I wouldn't bother spending an inflated fee when Sagna is just as good. Rose is much better though - just as quick and much calmer and cleverer on the ball. Rose is worth a punt but not Walker.

Would the spuds really let Walker leave to a rival though?
I understand from a good source that Kieran Trippier's wife is unhappy living in London and is pushing him to move back north. So with Walker and Trippier leaving that would leave them with no right back unless they already have someone lined up.
Not that I'm saying we should go for Trippier by the way, although...............

Sums them both up for me...mates a ST at spuds and would have Trippier over Walker (personally i'd have neither)...and is only slightly more bothered about Rose.
