Brilliant news.

The only thing I'm scared of is the piss-taking from fans of other teams and the media about being ripped off! I honestly don't know how I coped with the banter surrounding the Stones transfer, I don't think my heart could take it again!

They're usually so fair handed with us but with this I think they won't play nice.

Brilliant signing. Fast, aggressive and a much better passer than I had previously thought. He's a bit of a job but we need that

Personally I think this is crap. We gave in too easily. But despite the 50mil price tag, this is also crap for spurs. Rival strengthened for only maybe 15mil more than his real market value. Team In there position really should not be strengthening rivals. Hahaha

Don't know why we're comparing them in the first place given one is a fullback and the other is a striker but seeing as we are, we can't use the lowest figure for walker and the highest figure with add on's for Lukaku to make it sound better. The fee going around is £55 million + add on's and seeing as we don't know how much the add on's are worth we can only compare it to the £75 million base figure for Lukaku.

as for what we're getting, I have no issues with most of them but 3 of those points are very questionable. Firstly, I wouldn't class him as young seeing as he's 27 and fullbacks tend to drop off quite early, particularly ones that rely so heavily on pace as walker does.

Secondly, when has he ever played DM? there's nothing in his game that suggests he could play there either, lacks the technical skill, positional sense, brains and composure to play there and under utilises his main asset which is his pace. I'll put money on him never ever playing in that position for us.

And the final point, does he really weaken them that much? If he did they simply wouldn't sell him. They obviously prefer Trippier (as do i personally) and feel he's the better bet going forward, so losing a replacement right back isn't weakening the squad all that much, particularly when you're getting £55 million + for him in a time when money might be tight for them with the new stadium to pay for.
Where are you getting £55m+ from? Its £50m which could go to £53m with addons by most reports. It still doesn't make me feel better about the price we paid or affect the the point you were making though.

Having said that Trippier I wouldn't want over Walker personally he may be younger(he's about as technical as Walker maybe but not moreso) but that game for England against France he seemed to bottle it when the going got tough and lost all composure(messed everyone else up by backing off way too much when anyone ran at him) the mental side of the game is something that you never know if a player can attain or not. Lets see how he does when the pressure's all on him at Tottenham, it could well weaken them if he has a dip and can't recover form.

Pep does not have unique criteria for fullbacks as for keepers and center backs. He likes only sweeper-keepers and ball-playing center backs but he favors both inverted technical fullbacks to cmf and walker type fullbacks which have pace run join attack during 90 minutes and deliver assists to attacking players so walker signing is very good signing.

Spurs fans on the radio are hilarious

"We didn't want him"
"Trippier is miles better"
"He's past his best"
"He can't cross"
"We've took City to the cleaners"
