What's the excitement about this afternoon?

The word was madrid had a bid accepted by monaco but they then came out and said they had not accepted an offer so people think we are still in it

I suppose you could give him a 10 year contract instead of the usual 5 years. That would mean amortisation of 16 million a year plus wages, which is not too bad. He is just 18.

I'm sure he'd love to be shackled to a ten year contract. :-)

My only concern are the foreign slots that are available I think someone said after Kolorov went we had two remaining foreign places and an english spot. If we get Sanchez that leaves one spot unless we have an english or association trained centre half who could use the english spot allowing Mbappe to take the last foreign one. Of course we could dispense with a cb altogether. Its a connundrum. :-)

He would need to be registered in the Champions League not the Premier League though if he did sign this summer he would qualify as club trained in 3 seasons.

The latest I saw said that us and Madrid were 'straight fight' for his signature and we were in 'intense discussions' with Monaco over the player. [le10sport]

He's supposedly interested in us because of the Pep factor and more game time as well as higher wages.
