Has the announcement of any major transfer ever been stage managed in that way ? I can remember when keegan signed for Southampton they kept it under wraps until he was presented to the press but I can't remember any big transfers that had been embargoed

This came about bc somebody said Mbappe would be done this weekend then ancoats said huge news was being embargoed. Sam lee tweeted about the embargo which gave it more attention. Somehow it was all discussed in this thread.

I've been a bit dim in not factoring in the fact that the world cup in Qatar is coming up. The marketing opportunities for PSG if they have Mbappe on the books is enormous, and I can well imagine they will do whatever necessary to sign him. It's an inevitable outcome I think.

Also, if Harsh Lesson is a Brazilian PSG supporter, I am the Pope. Who people didn't realise is keen on footy and posts on forums under the pseudonym Chippy_boy.
