Kylian Mbappe

Have it on pretty good authority he's going to sign a new contract. At least that's what Monaco think which means someone from his camp has said it's on.

Monaco obviously think they can get even more next year after the World Cup - of course anything can happen - long lay off, loss of form etc. but Monaco can't sell all their crown jewels at once and maybe someone has given the lad some good advice that time is on his side and to stay put where he is for a bit longer if he's happy - I can think of worse places to live!

Interesting that apparently Jardim's been offered an enormous salary to go and manage in China. He hasn't signed the new deal Monaco have offered him and is stalling. They fear he's gonna take the China job. I suspect if they lose Jardim along with Mendy, Silva, Bakayoko, and Fabinho, it's hard to envisage why Mbappe stays.

I also think it's interesting that both Mbappe's people and Monaco are actively talking to people who want to buy Mbappe. Not the actions of people who intend to spend another year in Monaco. I could be wrong but I get the feeling he's going to move this summer.

There's a real possibility his stock may drop in the next 12 months if Monaco sell Mendy and Fabinho to add to the loss of Silva.

If Madrid or anyone else really is bidding over £100m they would be mad to turn it down in the hope they would get more. How much more would they realistically get?

Hope he stays at Monaco for another season, don't think we are in a position to go balls deep with everything else that needs sorting.

Last post from me on this regarding youth because I don't want fantasyireland having a stroke. I wanted rekik, barker, lopes, denayer, and Roberts to play and make it here just as anyone else. There hasn't been a single player make our first team since I got into the game (outside of Micah). Having said that we need to start looking at ourselves like we're RM. It annoys Pep that we don't. Ask yourself if Real would have taken a chance on any of those players above. Massive Nope for me.

We'll never know.

But we are not Real Madrid, at all.

Sadly I think that story about him being close to agreeing a deal will go in the bin if Jardim leaves. Hard to see Monaco renewing any of their big stars unless they somehow manage to land a "name" manager like Tuchel. Otherwise it's going to be a firesale including Mbappe.

It will be really interesting to see who they buy and who is in the team next season if they do sell off all the big targets.

They have some very good players to replace some of them, like the LB Jorge who will replace Mendy is supposedly brilliant, but they've got no obvious replacement for Bernardo Silva or Lamar if he goes.

Silva will be replaced by our very own Rony Lopes! Tielemans is obviously a good signing to replace Fabinho. They have a great scouting network in France and they're already making moves for players - just not headline players.

Mad to think that 12 months ago they signed Mendy for peanuts from Marseille. At the time Mendy left under a cloud and was widely reported to have a terrible attitude and to be a pretty unprofessional trainer.

They should buy Mahrez

Too old, too expensive and on too high wages for their project.

There's no potential to improve Mahrez and flip him for big profit later.
There is potential. They did it with Falcao after he'd lost his way. Mahrez's stock has fallen over the past year. So I disagree to be honest. I think he'd tear it up over there. No problems with adaptation either, with knowing the language etc. I'd love to see it personally.

Falcao was bought before their transformation into the current buy low sell high Monaco - they'd never buy him now and he mainly got a chance there because they couldn't get rid of him after he bad English loans.

It would be quite good to see it just doesn't fit their model.
