if you, or anyone, want city to win anything you don't sell the finest striker around. the very first thing you do when doing so is chance him putting you out of any trophy you are trying to win. I like the kid at Monaco but as of yet he's no match for Aguero. stockpile him, rotate him, but I know who would start for me right now.
10/10 Bill

Now I know what Wenger was getting at. A journalist who follows the london clubs wrote a couple of days ago that Wenger wasn't convinced that Guardiola was interested in sanchez. I wondered what was meant by that. Was it significant. Now I think we know because Arsenal too have been in for Mbappe, and he must know of City's interest too.

I think City have a small but significant chance of getting Mbappe. Big pluses:
  • He'll play
  • His friends: Mendy and Silva

When Aguero signed for City, we signed one of the best strikers in world football. He's not at that level at the moment.

Mbappe would be an absolutely dream signing. A long term replacement for Aguero giving us an incredible forward line. I'd take him over absolutely any player in world football right now.

- Messi missed a pen against us in CL
- Ibrahimovic missed a pen against us in CL
- Ronaldo missed a pen in CL final
- Baggio missed a pen in WC final

Need any more examples
Those players have won the biggest games in CL football. City's players have come up short in the Champions League. It's not bottle, but if City want to win the Champions League then Mbappe is the type of player you need. You can do it the Atletico Madrid, Juventus, chelsea way, but Guardiola isn't going to play their type of football.

Perhaps depends on whether Real Madrid can play him next season, and is he prepared to wait. I think they will stick by Ronaldo for one more season. Is Mbappe prepared to wait for Real Madrid. City could win the Champions league with Mbappe and become in time another Real Madrid and he could make history at City. These things go in cycles. I remember when Barcelona and Real Madrid struggled to win European Cups, and it was English clubs who dominated. Things change and quicker than we think. We should know this seeing as we have done this in the Premier League

Monaco have said they will announce futures of Mendy, Mbappe and Lemar by weekend
What do you reckon? Mendy City, and Mbappe and Lemar staying?

I know Lemar is interesting Arsenal, but I get the feeling that Monaco about to bring down the shutters on their outgoings. They could give Mbappe impoved terms but with a clause allowing him to speak to Champions League teams if they pay X

Where would he fit in? He's got loads of potential and if we have the opportunity to snatch him up we should go for it. But where does he fit in? Doubt he'll happily rotate with aguero AND Jesus. Then does that mean we go two up top? Not sure how it'll work but would be a nice signing for the future when aguero gets on a bit. But for now no one tops aguero.

Everything regarding Mbappe points towards him staying where he is for another year and Madrid will come in for him next season. That seems to suit him, Monaco and Madrid. I'm sure we'll be all over it if we hear anything about him wanting out this summer but i doubt we'll be pushing that hard when there's still a lot of priority signings needed to be made first.

It's a huge risk keeping him. If he has a poor season it could easily be 50/60 million down the drain for Monaco.
