I just wish we could pull off a transfer like this and stick it to the rest of the world. Think we will be short upfront relying on just Aguero and Jesus. Maybe not too bad if we get Sanchez

true but he doesn't look like he's a flash in the pan Macheda. Plus, next season prices are only going to go up considerably again so even if he's somehow less attractive he'll still be worth as much or more than they can currently get for him. If they really wasn't convinced they'd get rid now or at least have something in place for next season.

I know but anything can happen. Turning down 120 mil is beyond crazy. He could have a career ending injury next year and Monaco would be fucked. They should take that money and rebuild:

He's not their only sellable asset though, they've got the money from Bernardo, about to get a tonne more for Bakayoko and possibly Mendy and have suitors waiting to pounce on a number of other players like Lemar and Fabinho, Their whole remit is to develop and sell for profit but they can't simply sell 5/6/7 first team players after just winning the league. Letting an 18 year kid stay and develop for another year seems sensible all around.
 
Basically for me it is either do we go with Sanchez who is older but extremelly proven both domestically and in europe and would slot in knowing he does not need time to adjust, or do we go for the new kid on the block who ripped up europe last season and in France but not knowing that he would gel immediately but take at least another year to settle in and adjust

Either way we cannot solely rely on Sergio (who injury record hasnt been great) and Jesus who is still young himself albeit full of confidence.
 
Mbappè, Jesus, Sanè, Sterling and Bernardo Silva developing these young players by making them better by creating alchemy between them would be a guarantee for our future competitiveness

With Pep at the helm that's stuff of dreams. I'd go with future dominance over competitiveness but thats just me :). Add in stones, mendy, Ederson and over the next few years the likes of keita/weigl/diawara etc and my dream squad will almost be compete.

Can't see it Marv. I think we are in the race but probable outsiders. We would probably sell Sanchez and Giroud at least to make room for him / help finance it though if it was an option.

I'd be amazed if he ends up anywhere other than Madrid. Though the fact they only loaned James does make me doubt slightly if they are going for him this summer.

I thought given the quotes coming out from the people around Monaco he would stay another year and end up at Madrid. However, that seemed to suggest it would be reliant on Monaco not selling after Bakayoko, but it seems Mendy is away, and I still wouldn't be surprised if Lemar and Fabinho still leave.
