It's obvious that we want him, but can we afford to splurge £150m on him?
During USA tour Pep explicitly hinted to Spanish journos that City's chequebook is fatter than Madrid's. If we can't, no one can. It's obvious that we want him, but can we afford to splurge £150m on him?
Have you really thought this through? He'd want to choose the signings and pick the team on Saturdays. His son would be the DoF, his son in law would be in charge of the academy and we'd have a new manager every month, the previous one having been sacked via Twitter. Oh, and we'd threaten to bomb North Korea every time we lost a match.
On the plus side , he might build a wall to keep the quiet neighbours out!
Yep 19% extra as Monaco is seen as a tax haven.Isn't there a tax problem with this tho? Doesn't a move by Real attract a hefty tax bill from the Spanish tax people cos the payment is being made to a tax free country?

Barca are a circus nowadays, doubt that Mbappe's camp will even consider them. It's Madrid or Us, the difference is being 'one of' among experienced stars or an indisputable number 1 in a young hungry team under Pep.Can we afford not to? This guy is going to be world class and this will be chicken feed considering the price Neymar is going for.
The problem is if Neymar goes which it looks like he does then Barca have €220 million burning a hole in their pocket.
Despite the extra 19% that they will have to pay I can't see this being an issue for them.
Go all out to show psg we can also go for big signings
Mbappe over Sanchez is the obvious choice if given the option. Sanchez has lost a half yard or so of pace and will only deteriorate. Still a good alternative to Mbappe but a signing that I could take or leave.
Being honest if we signed him Aguero would be the one making his way out of the door. Perhaps not this season but certainly next season and there would be no shortage of suitors. I know that may p*ss some people off with all that Sergio has done for us but the club has to move on and with such an exciting array of young talent and Pep the future is very bright.Barca are a circus nowadays, doubt that Mbappe's camp will even consider them. United thought the same when they bought Martial from Monaco for over £50m 2 years ago.Can we afford not to? This guy is going to be world class and this will be chicken feed considering the price Neymar is going for.

It's a gamble.
Besides Dembele, (who Barca are reportedly targeting to replace Neymar), and assuming Arsenal will not sell us Sanchez, are there any other similar options as a plan C?
We need a clinical finisher with a good playmaking abilities who can occasionally drop deeper in midfield or act like a winger. Doubt that such top players (outside of 3 mentioned) exist at all, can't remember anyone tbh (not counting the likes of Messi ofc). Hybrid F/W/10 with a lot of goals in them are rare species.United thought the same when they bought Martial from Monaco for over £50m 2 years ago.
