So if we finished 4th on the last day ahead of United you'd expect our players to mope around doing nothing? Or would you complain about that as well?

Anyone forgotten the feeling of pipping Spurs to CL place?

Because we knew it was the first step of a new era of success
Later the very same week we won the FA Cup

If I were an arsenal fan, I'd be fucking embarrassed

Agreed, if this is the benchmark for success at the mighty Arsenal (Champions League payday, because there isn't the remotest possibility of them winning it) then they are a sadder club than even I had imagined.

with Lyon, Fenerbahce, Zenit or Eindhoven possibly to play in the play-off it is early to say they are in it

A valid point indeed Ruhr.
10 years ago finishing 4th for Arsenal would have seen a very downbeat dressing room i reckon.
The contrast is apparent to anyone looking in.

I think it's more a sense of relief after losing their best player....again!

Made all the sweeter for also denying Spurs the chance.

I think Savage came out with the most damning but true verdict, ''Gone from being 'The Invincibles' to celebrating top 4''.

The demise can lay at the door of Kroenke, if Arsenal fans want change they must stop buying ST's and talk through the AFC supporters association and demand Kroenke stops profit taking or sell to Usmanov. However long may this continue, their fans are vile on the majority and it's a pleasue to see them pay through the nose to watch an also ran team.

Listening to their fans on the radio this morning made me despair. They said they would rather qualify for the CL than win a trophy, the Arsenal hierachy have really brainwashed them with this "business model" lark

Jesus the away dressing rooms at St James' Park arent up to much are they?

Sounds mad but that's the exact first thing i thought when i saw that picture... that room looks the same size as a shoe box! Half the team have to get changed in the corridor

They didn't lose him, they sold him for profit to a team which ten years ago was their closest rival & now is way ahead of them on the football field. I really wanted Spurs to clinch 4th,not because I prefer them to Arsenal but,I really want ALL the teams that pushed through FFP(or FUP in my book) to suffer without the £30m+ CL money, then see where their "perfect business model" gets them(we'll all forget about the Fizsman donation eh?).I hope their fans enjoy another balance sheet parade this week.I'd rather see our player's moping around the pitch with faces like slapped arses ,like yesterday, after finishing runners up in the league & FA Cup,than celebrating getting into the CL Qualifiers by the skin of their teeth. At least in my mind I hope our players are hurting at not performing to the best of their ability & showing it yesterday.
