wheres the best bar for a pre/after match drink, i m going to be staying down the road from the ground in hermosa beach area.. anywhere near the ground where we can all meet

Hermosa has a great bar area near the pier. Don't stumble into "Underground" though, that's a Chelsea pub. Who am I kidding, this is CA you can go anywhere

anyone got any decent flight info?

Try Kayak pal....

<a class="postlink" href="http://www.kayak.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">www.kayak.com</a>

Its as good as anything i have seen for checking out the best deals, shop around on dates and airports if you are flexible although its the height of the summer so airlines wont be falling over themselves to give deals..

The cheapest i saw so far was around $1,250 return MAN-LAX.... :-(

The San Francisco game goes on pre-sale tomorrow.

San Francisco Giants Presale begins Thursday, June 1 at 10:00 a.m. PT
Use the passcode SOCCER11 to secure the best seats for this exclusive offer.

<a class="postlink" href="http://sanfrancisco.giants.mlb.com/sf/ticketing/presale_soccer.jsp" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://sanfrancisco.giants.mlb.com/sf/t ... soccer.jsp</a>

I recommend section 110 behind one goal, due to where the pitch will be placed at the baseball stadium.

Also at least 50 San Francisco Blues will be at Maggie McGarry's in North Beach before and after the game. Its a 20 minute bus ride, 10 minute taxi or 30 minutes shank's pony from the ground, but it is in the best area for out of town visitors. The pub is owned by a blue, Mick.

See you there...

any tips on getting a cheap flight over to l.a?

I fly over regularly, really July is the most expensive time of year your looking £750+ for multiple stops or around £900-1000 for direct London - lax i think Hilton LA is doing something like $80 a night just now about £55 per night! I'm missing the galaxy match by 4 days but trying to get there in time, if you get chance while your there try Anaheim for the baseball my girlfriend is a massive Angels fan and its a good excuse for a booze-up! Centrefield sports bar in Huntington beach is pretty good to catch up on any other sport but remember the time difference! Ive just realised how much my Football travel costs are going up this year!

got a bunch of us in section 135 - although only one Manc (me). we are driving up from San Diego in an RV (Bloody Great Camper Van) - one driver many piss-heads.

tailgating is probably the way to go - the ground is part of the Cal State University campus - and there's not much else around there.

Come on city!

For those of you confused by this 'tailgating' term (like I was), they mean this: <a class="postlink" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tailgate_party" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tailgate_party</a>

sorry - got 'yanked' after a few years (17) here - tailgating is just pissing it up in the car park.
Why pay $4 for a tin of beer in a bar when you can get 40 for 25 bucks?

Home Depot Center is a real nice football ground. Very English style - a bit like Bolton, but no pies and $6 hot dogs.

Come on boys - come over!

thinking of heading to LA for a 3/4 days before the match then heading over to Vegas for the Khan fight straight after the match then staying their for 3/4 days after.
just trying to weigh up the flights, tickets, car etc.
