La Liga 2013/14

Rooting for Atletico Madrid to win the La Liga title this season as they are the spanish version of us. We both have similar style of play, we play very high pressing with so much intensity within the first 20 to 30 minutes and score loads of goals.

Atletico are like Chelsea on Steroids, a team who will dominate teams weaker than them but when it comes to the big games they thrive off being the underdog and play pragmatic counter attacking football very similar to what Mourinho does with his teams.

Liverpool thrive off being in control of every opponent they face even the big teams, if they don't have control of a game they struggle just as we saw when City had you lot on the ropes in the second half last week, they are just another mini-Barcelona who base their game on possession and movement, nothing like Atletico apart from the odd ccounter attack and pressing, but even Liverpool's pressing doesn't come close to that of Atletico's in my opinion.

Atletico have scored 20 less goals than Barca and Real

It's a testament to how special Messi is when he's being touted as 'having a poor season'. He has managed to score 39 goals in 42 games, which by any player's standard is magnificent. Any team in the Premier League would break the bank to have a player with that 'poor form'. A winner against Bilbao when the pressure another notch in Messi's belt this season!

Not the first deluded scouser to make a comparison with Atletico, won't be the last. Liverpool are the second most successful club in English football, the third most successful in European football and yet they still are so unfulfilled that they have to link themselves to the chronically indebted Atletico and the Dortmund that rose from the ashes of bankruptcy. Since the end of their heyday Liverpool never really had a point where they were relegated or in serious financial turmoil, there were times where it was built up to seem that way but it wasn't the case.

Liverpool are a special club that are paradoxically entitled and the romantic underdog, or the cursed and unfulfilled. What would Shankly have done with this team eh?

Foul which led to Messi's free-kick goal

never a foul but the powers that be don't want barca out of the title race

What a win for Atletico beating Valencia 1-0.

Win their next two games and they win the league.

Yep - we are tanatlisingly close - gonna be one hell of a party if we do. What would be really funny would be to win it at the Camp Nou with Barca simply rolling over with their kids - that would wind the fookin Madridistas up no end. Win the next two though and it won´t matter

let's see if Villarreal kill off Barcelona's season, Atletico and Real only got 1 point when they faced off Villarreal at the Madrigal
