La Liga 2013/14

If Atleti lose I can see them getting trashed in the CL final too, they will be crushed.

Barcelona in a one off game to win La Liga in a poor season at the Camp Nou, can see them and Messi turning up for that one.

Crazy season, Barcelona have been poor but can still win the league, says a lot about both Madrid clubs, bottlers.

Barca were awful against a relegation team

Vintage Moyes tactics, cross cross cross. Elche are an ultra-defensive team so that won't work against them, it won't against Atletico, because they'll be very defensive. We already saw that in the CL quarterfinal. They'll park the bus which is the kryptonite for Barca, and a draw also gives Atletico the league

Godin and Costa will be back next week too. No Alba, no Neymar, can't see Barca win next week

I know mate, but Messi can dribble and score past any team depending if he's motivated.

I don't understand why they cross so much with so many midgets?
Hasn't done too well when teams park the bus and not done much against Atletico recently.

I think people forget context when they talk about the worst Barcelona team of the last 9 or so years. They are still Barcelona and still comfortably beat the English champions.

Ancelotti performed his specialty of somehow losing the league title even when he has the best squad. Considering the teams he has managed 3 titles is a very poor return. That being said if he wins 3 CL that's an unsurpassed return. No surprise Madrid fell apart when Ronaldo got injured. This Madrid team more than Mourinho's teams were built on Ronaldo. Also goes to show just how bad Bayern were.

Should be a great game next week. Barcelona and Atletic have played 5 times already this season and Barcelona have failed to win even one.

Just watching Real v Espanyol

What do you think a team like Real is missing? what do they need.

They have Bale, Benzema, Di maria, Isco, Illaramendi and Khedira all on the pitch.

Real have underachieved this season big time IMO

IMO they need a proper playmaker, they often struggle to break defensive sides down and need a Silva in the side. They aren't having david or samir, though.

I liked how the season turned out.

Only if Atleti can hold on for a draw at Camp Nou

Will be cheering them on, time for the two big clubs to take a good look at themselves

I am not watching the game but this year was all about La Decima as it has been for years, if anything this obsession with the tenth European Cup seems to be a distraction for them but at the end of the day for a club who has won as much as Real Madrid maybe trying to win that tenth becomes priority.

They have had the best Barcelona team ever to contend with in the past few years thiugh and most if not all teams would have come second to that lot.

apart from Modric, I don't think their central midfield is particularly strong, they're very rag like in as much as it's mostly about their wingers, and their pace.

I also think Benzema is overrated and is like having a technically gifted Dzeko in the side, except Dzeko has actually started making more effort.

Luis Enrique is taking over as barce manager. Done a decent job at celta, got them playing very attractive football.

When Flanagan is keeping you out of the team, you know it's
time to hang up ya boots.

I think Flanagan is a decent young right back and for me will be fighting it out with Clyne for the England right back position after the World Cup.

Considering it's his first proper season in top flight football and whilst being a natural right back he has been forced to play on the left I think he has done pretty well.

Brazil's Cafu gave him high praise:

"I first started hearing about him by watching Premier League matches and observing his performance along with other players.

"I then started seeing some news saying he is the Red Cafu! So there's nothing better than coming to the city and taking a picture with my successor."

He continued: He is a good player; still young and developing, but already gaining recognition at Liverpool and he might even have an opportunity with the English national team. He'll be a great English player in the future.

"He has speed, strength and determination. He's an athlete who goes after it and never gives it up. That's exactly what I used to do; there were no missing chances for me, no tiredness and no being dejected.

"I see that style in him too. I hope he continues that way and achieves as many trophies as I did."
