Did a quick search and couldn't find a general thread. Feel free to merge if I'm wrong.

So who out of Real, Barça and Atleti will win it? What will happen with a rejuvenated Valencia, how will Sevilla, Bilbao and Villarreal get on? Who'll go down?

Personally, I can only see Real winning it. Although there defence doesn't look the best (.... Still very good) just look at their attack, wow. I can't see past them. Barça have a weak defence compared to the others and I don't think Atletico can carry on their for. From last season.

Just a small point, lads and lasses:

'Real' are Real Sociedad, and I can't see them winning it.

Real Madrid are 'Madrid', NEVER 'Real', but nobody seems to care about calling them by their right name. Would you be happy to hear the rags referred to as 'Manchester'?

Mini rant over.

Sorry for that.. ;)

Living in Spain, how do you think Valencia will get on? I used to go there, so support them now. With Peter Lim, sort of the new owner, can you see them getting back into Europe with Nuno as manager? I though Pizzi was doing a good job. It's really gone backwards since Unai Emery was sacked.

¡No pasa nada!

Peter Lim is still having problems with the takeover. He's trying to get Bankia to organise the financial side of things for him, but it shouldn't really be too complicated. Valencia are still planning to carry on with the construction of their fantastic new stadium (which started about 5 years ago but has been halted due to no money being available); if they can sell the Mestalla site, that would bring in around 150 million euros, and we would see Valencia back in the big time.

Apart from Atlético Madrid last season, Spanish football is dominated, as you well know, by the big two of Barca and Madrid. They get most of the TV money and don't seem to be worried about anything connected with FFP. Meanwhile, teams like Salamanca (my home city) disappear, as they have a few million euros of debt. Murcia have just been relegated to Segunda B for the same reasons, although the courts have told the League they must be reinstated (the league have said no way).

¡Amunt Valencia!

The signs so far for Los Che look good, the "signings" have been good so far. We've got good money for Matthieu, Bernat and Cissokho. Really looking forward to seeing Rodrigo and Gomes. If we can finish the Nou Mestalla we could return to the Valencia of the early 2000's.

The politics of Spanish football are very convoluted as seen in the Murcia case. What division are Salamanca in? Is it that shocker of a third division with about 100 teams? ;)

I'm glad to see Racing back. I went there in 2008 to watch City, we got beat 3 - 1 (typical city...). Santander is a great place, very hospitable and it was such a shame to see them get relegated back to back. Hopefully they can recover and get back in the top division.

All change with the TV money, pretty sure i read that they are going to the PL style distribution.

The debt and who owes who what there is unbelievable. Didn't Valencia default on a debt to the communitat of Valencia who had to go cap in hand to the government for €4.5 billion whilst both owed Bankia who then also defaulted and needed a bail out to the tune of €19 billion. Peter Lim has to sort out or wait while they sort out all the debts. It is a farce.

Good to see Eibar didnt get the relegation they were threatened with.
