In 2014 Khaldoon said he would like to sit down in 6 or so years and discuss with "our friends at UEFA" whether City's business model was superior to UEFA's - he was certain that it was. Only 3 years later it is beyond dispute that he is right. Tebas's panicky outbursts are simply further recognition of just how right he is. In 2014 City took "the pinch" because it was no more than an irrelevant and minor annoyance. It messed our CL campaign up that year but the Sheikh and Khaldoon take the long view. And now there are no smug smiles from Barcelona, Munich, Milan or Salford. How things have changed!
City now attract bigger crowds than they have for years. They are one of the most watched teams on television, not just in the UK nut in the US and just about everywhere else. The club attracts a whole range of sponsors without recourse to noodle sellers or dubious dating sites. And it is profitable, and profitable to the extent that it can carry out a complete rebuilding of the squad from revenue generated entirely from "acceptable" streams and with no recourse to dodgy loan deals or ridiculous fees and wages. And facilities for the first team, the women's team and all the youth teams which are the envy of the world - all paid for withou incurring one penny of debt.
So, if you want UEFA to investigate, Sñr. Tebas, that's fine by me because you'll find UEFA forced to admit that what football needs is more owners like Sheikh Mansour and more managing directors like Khaldoon al Mubarak and that City's business model is vastly and inherently superior to the one they wanted to force on football. And things will only get better.....for City.
