I don't think there's anything 'absurd' about the other thread except the name. "Lack of" suggests to me that the OP thinks there should be more openly gay footballers to improve the league.

It's like saying "this soup is lacking salt"...you want more salt in order to improve it. If the thread was called "There's an unusally small number of openly gay footballers" then I could see his point.
