This is what I do for a living mate Motorcycle Technician. If some ones admitting this needs restoration then be prepared for some $%%%$££"&& times ahead.

I was looking at a Lambretta in Reddish. Took a few photos and the eBay link to Mike Phoenix in Denton.
Seemed ok to me - he pointed out numerous problems, mismatched parts and the potential cost of getting it to a half decent standard. Suggested that I either treble my budget and buy a properly restored one or a new one - even though they are made in Taiwan.
Mike's a top fella, and a massive blue. I bought my Vespa PX 125 from him and his old business partner when they were in the centre of Ashton.

My mate bought one that had been 'restored'
Was an import from Vietnam or somewhere like that. Was full of filler, the wiring was ridiculous and it leaked oil all over the floor.
Someone stripped it and they found gaskets made from cardboard cereal packers, tin gaskets made from a drink can and reckoned that it was unlikely to go far as it had been put together using bits from different scooters which would probably have ended up disintigrating pretty soon.
Yeah motocentre on washway road sale... They have a small number at 2199 !!!
Only went in to have a look and it so beautiful that I bought it
