I knew as soon as that kid got the ball in his hands he would get Moore out. Everytime he gets to around 50 he gives his wicket away, he should have got a huge score the way he was playing.
 
Christ, that went way too close from the position we were in. if they had carberry and vince they would have easily won but still a great gane and great win. Roll on essex who now have gambir and panesar so will be another toughie!

Only one 2nd place qualifies and atm Gloucestershire are above us on net run rate so we need to hope they slip up, we hammer Essex or Derbyshire produce a miracle against Hampshire.
 
Gloucestershire are playing Somerset and Northants are away to Warwickshire so there's a good chance both could lose. If we beat Essex I would fancy our chances.

It is ridiculous that only the top qualify with one runner up.

it's not really, it's semi-finals so only 4 spots which means only the best gets through, not like T20 when 3rd placed teams can get a bye through, luckily this summer a group winner won it (and I say that as a Surrey fan, though we were best 2nd place anyway). My only issue with the one-day comp is it should be 50 over, no surprise we struggle at that format when we chop 10 overs off at county level, but playing our test batsmen may also have something to do with it...

Reece with an important wicket just before lunch, both openers gone now but these two at the crease are the dangermen. Reece is looking like a very handy cricketer.
