Lancashire CCC

lancs wouldve bit hand off to be in this position at start of match, practically every session has had to go our way and they more or less have

one last push pre and post lunch then pray for the weather and our batting

Still a chance with a couple of quick wickets and new ball. Though I suspected it, I didn't realise how average Kerrigan is having watched all day. Fast bowlers having six over spells went out of the window , not quite sure why.

As long as they don't bat till near tea and kill the game I don't mind. Lancs batting may not be up to chasing down a half decent target but the main thing at this point is to get them out, if not by lunch then 30 mins or so after lunch. At least that gives us half a chance.

Interesting that about Kerrigan.

Noticed that England and Lancs stated that they had agreed he would not be involved in an ECB squad on the near future.

Atherton made a comment on Sky the other day about him not appearing in a squad after being picked in (I think) the Lords squad early this season.

Has something happened following him not being selected for the game or did they feel he didn't turn up ready to play?

In my opinion - It's time Mike Watkinson and some of the senior officials stepped down at Lancs and they have a change of direction. We have not produced a test standard batsman since Atherton and Crawley.

the coaching structure at Lancs needs a shake up as does the LCB. I have freinds who have a role in the LCB coach set up and they have been calling out issues for a while. Something needs to change. I'd take a look at the likes of Yorkshire, Warwickshire & Notts who are tending to have some good development structures in place -

The Lancs Academy teams & LCB junior teams seem to be doing really well but not transitioning across to the county set up. There are some cracking young players in the Lancashire area which are not even being recognised by the county, school & club cricket in the Lancs area is going downhill. Too many kids at a young age think they have made it and start asking for a drop from clubs rather than playing to improve and working on their game.

Hopefully this is the wake up call Lancs need. I don't think it will shake them up as they are looking in an alternative direction, trying to maximise commercial revenue rather than work on cricket development.

Anyway Rant over
