Should be shocked with the result given the position we were in at the end of day 1, but with this shit team anything's possible. Going where we deserve to be.
 
Bowling has been too bad although we’ve had a tendency to let teams score a few at the tale. Losing 3 players to Central contracts hasn’t helped but our batting has been consistently poor. A few of our players have performed below standards- so I do think there are deeper mgmt and coaching issues. I guess there will be a “drains up” review and hopefully some changes. The County is in terrible decline and really needs to reestablish itself. Can’t help feeling LCCC have become a corporate events organisation and have lost sight of the cricket.
 
Too right. As long as we can host a few rock concerts and fill the ground for the T20 Roses game, and stage a Test match now and again, that'll satisfy the corporate ego.

Surrey have found and developed some fine young players and signed a class overseas strike bowler (Morne Morkel), but Lancs are light years behind, Hameed averaging 9 with the bat for example, and Livingstone not much better.

There are players in the first XI I have scarcely heard of.

While I agree with pretty much all the points it’s a bit harsh on Livingstone who has missed a huge chunk of the season due to the broken hand which a shocker of a break, we have tons of promising players in the youth set up but a little bit like City we rarely give them the chance, paying the like of Shiv Chanderpaul bucks at his age is depressing, it’s no surprise that the first time we go into a season without a decent coach we turn into the rabble we are, love Chappell as a player and Walt but both are out of their depth, invest at the top and bring on the youth
