You could always try looking for a refurbished laptop with your budget. Some decent spec out there and maybe a bargain waiting.

Was going to say you're looking at a netbook for £200, but I've been proved wrong. Decent bet if you're not looking for it to do anything particularly taxing or taking it around with you though. Advent 4211 is a decent one.

Try Littlewoods Clearance, the other half got a cracking laptop for £230 on their site. An Acer dual core job, spot on.

anyone in the north manc area a new shop opened up in middleton called emendIT there is lots of re-furbished pc`s and laptops for as little as 130 quid onwards...friend bought one yesterday it was 150 quid ..a dell re-furb 2.80ghz 40gb hdd 512mb ram...he got speakers keyboard and a mouse with it aswel!

not the best spec i know but he uses it to go on forums and for facebook...top buy if you ask me.

i looked at an asus, memory is 8gb. not really enough... im still on the lookout! i'll check out the medions, look a good deal.

I was going to offer you my old Sony Vaio laptop for free :)

Needs new HDD & a DVD Drive though (I gave it a slap when I lost against Sunderland on FM).

Wont load up past the loading screen where the bar loads across.

No guarantee that would fix it however, so you could go and buy a DVD drive (£30 off e-bay) and HDD and still not have a working laptop.

cheers blue4ever! i know what you mean about buying a drive and it not working. its funny you should mention fm, thats when mine went off... home to chelsea, lost 1-0 even though i am the champions cup holder! it was on its last legs anyway.
