I buy refurbed ThinkPads for my business and personal use.£300 gets me a machine that was £1500 only a few years ago.

Thats what Ive got. Been going great for years

just ditched a cheap Lenovo IdeaPad I've probably had for 6 or so years, and that was literally falling apart. Swapped it for a Core i5 Asus Vivobook 15, which cost £359 from Argos. We have one of these deals at work whereby we can get discount from a large group of retailers including Argos, where we get 6%, so it actually cost me less than £339. I have an iMac all-in-one desktop so it's basically a back up, but there are things I need Windows for.

Pretty happy with it, certainly for the price.

Where do you get these refurbished laptops?

Try Ebay used and shop about. Wouldn't touch a laptop under half a grand. Not that I can afford it(I cant) just hate them. Got a Yamaha sound bar in front of me now, few years old but was close to a grand when first out. £30 and he dropped it off from Trafford :D

Depending on what you need it for a Chromebook is a very good performer and great value.
