Last Film You Saw

"Dragged Across Concrete"

At no point did I think this film knew what it wanted to be.

Too many back stories not filled in, too many moving variables & too many characters you didn't give 2 fooks about.

Even the title gives no real attachment to the film and only the director knows what it will mean to him.

Constructively poor.

The upside, based on the untouchables, not the gangster film, both good films.
About a quadraplegic who hires a black ex con as his ' carer/executive!
Enjoyed both.8/10
The green book. Really good.8/10
The professor and the madman, 7.5/10
Die young.
Really dark and bloody western, in the bone tomahawk style.
7/10

It’s actually ‘the intouchables’ french), ‘Untouchable’ (English)...

The remake is yet another piss poor excuse of running out of ideas from Hollywood,
poorly done, poorly cast and shit screenplay in comparison...

The original is head and shoulders above this tripe

"Gloria" (2013/ "Gloria Bell" (2019)"

Sebastian Lelio recreates his original Chilean-Spanish film using Julianne Moore in the title role.

His original film with Paulina Garcia's 'Gloria' has a harder edge to her and one doesn't find why she's been sought out. That must be my personal reflection coming through in what makes a person attractive. Julianne Moore plays her role differently; softer, airier, more vulnerably. It's great role for her, for sure.

Still, Lelio's 2013 version is more Euro accepting of bodies than Hollywood, but that doesn't stop Julianne Moore getting topless, here and there, and one's eyebrows do raise as she's in VERY good shape!

Sergio Hernandez as 'Rodolfo' in 2013 to John Turturro's 'Arnold', in 2019, is almost as good a portrayal, but it's Tuturro he was up against!! Same song, slightly different arrangement.

A good offbeat film with some great nostalgic music in both and no CGI to be found anywhere!
