Last Film You Saw

Kingdom of the planet of the apes, I'm a sucker.for these films so a biased 8/10.

Nomadland, unlike the Banshees the other day, the lack of anything much happening was a tad boring tbh 5/10

Seems the Irish gift of the gab is more entertaining than an American RV driving pensioner.

Black and Blue (2019) - 6/10 - Corrupt cop drama with Naomi Harris and Tyrese Gibson, fairly predictable but some decent action if not ridiculous at times.

Don Juan Demarco (1994) - 6/10 - Johnny Depp plays a potentially delusional man who believes he can get any woman. He probably could looking like that. It's actually quite a sweet film.

Lock Up (1989) - 7/10 - Stallone in a prison action drama, as usual the action scenes are great, dialogue scenes not so great.

Nosferatu. Sadly some truly wooden performances and has itself confused with Downtown Abbey.

Just watched a right fuck up called Happiness. Good cast but I can see why it’s classed as controversial (and some).

A very disturbing 2 hours.

Just watched 30 mins of Oppenheimer. It was awful, I just don’t get modern film-making sometimes. The constant background music was bad enough but the editing was all over the place with short scene after short scene, it was like a highlights package.

I know it’s a slow story and they tried to make it more compelling with the music, the fast pace storytelling and mix of colour and black and white but I thought it was a mess.

Longlegs

Load of shite. When the missus mentioned it I thought we were doing date night a bit differently this week :-(

Watched Flight - Gerard Butler (yes, I know !) as an heroic airline pilot fighting to protect his passengers who’ve crash landed on a lawless Philippine island. Cliched as fuck - just about okay for 30 mins or so, then plot falls of a cliff. Competent action scenes but childlike storyline. I wouldn’t recommend it 4/10

That's Nolan for you he's shit when it comes to sound via dialogue. He's aware but seems a bit of a stubborn bastard.

Nightmare on Elm Street 3 (1987) - 6/10
The best of the bunch, not sure where Freddy gets compared to Jason, these films shit all over the Friday the 13th films.
Also watched 4 and 5 but both are a continuous step down.

The Sword in the Stone (1963) - 4/10
Not aged well, although was better than I remembered it. Act 3 was rushed though, you can just tell. It was probably great at the time though, good background animation and one catchy song.

Nowhere to Run (1993) - 6/10
Van Damme escapes prison and then helps a woman try to save her farm from property developers so he can shag her.

Watched it last week, first 10-20mins were okay and then as you say it gets stupid.

Still don't understand how they spotted a small road to land on and then when they get out it looks like they're on an airport runway.
