Last Film You Saw

Watched the new (reedited) version of the Godfather Part 3 last night. It still doesn't improve the performance of Sofia Copola, orbring it close to parts 1 and 2, but it helps the narrative flow of the movie considerably and has a much better ending.

It's a shame Robert Duval couldn't be tempted back, as the original screenplaywould have been a great ending to the saga.
 
As I've been influenced by some of the posters re-watching old classics I thought I would revisit one myself.

"The Outsiders".

As a kid I thought this was cool, even if it seemed a bit off, to me.

What a crock of self indulgent shyte as an adult!! I see it more of a stage play now, with some really shoddy moments and Dillon walking the tightrope with attempted method acting and adlibbing. He really did think he was James Dean back then!

Funnily enough, I found Cruise to be the best thing in it and most authentic.

But, what was really weird was the Lowe and Swayze dynamic, rather than being big bros, were more mum and dad with a weird sexual tension vibe!

Really disturbing that the director did not know how to portray this situation! Unless this was secretly intended...?

I turned it off 3/4 into it as I couldn't understand why I fell for the hype, so much, as a teen!
 
The duke- old school feel good easy viewing with an account of art robbery I was unaware of from 60s 7/10
 
The 8th Night, Korean film on netflix. Felt like it was trying to be a combination of The Wailing and the Indian film Tumbbad but doesn't come close to either. Rambling and meandering plot with messy ending, there was one well done creepy scene though.

I did this as a 'watch along' with another YT channel and I think it added to the experience of a film I would have tossed aside in the first 30mins.

Just for that I can't really gauge the film as I normally would.

So, as a result, it was better than I thought it would be.
