I had no idea what the film was about which I think helped. So the way it developed and the turn of events was a very enjoyable surprise. After that I just switched off and lapped up the action and violence.I thought the lead was ideal in the role too. When I first saw it advertised I saw Bill Odenkirk starred I thought I must watch that, Im a big fan of his TV series work as Saul the dodgy lawyer.
But what I saw was a generic revenge movie with hardly a storyline.
Just a big shoot up really, I felt really let down that Bill would star in a film like this when he is such a great actor.
The plot is wafer-thin and merely a device for heaps of action sequences. Nothing really follows in any plausible fashion, everything is just a set-up for the next fight scene.
More than this, it's all been done before, and better. (bad guys who couldnt hit a barn door with a Bazooka) Just about everything about this made me think "Wait, this seems familiar". It really is your generic mindless action film. John Wick 5, Liam Neeson ?
It's not I dont like revenge flicks, I recently watched the very good "Riders Of Justice" and "Blue Ruin" movies. Revenge movies with a good story.
It's funny this, and Im not trying to be twatish about it...But what was brilliant about it (Im genuinely interested)
Went to see it today beautiful filmed, forgot saw the original a couple of years ago nightmare alley 1947 full film is on YouTube.Nightmare Alley
Visually Stunning, honestly drop dead beautiful. Worth seeing at the cinema definitely.
Watched Ready or Not last night. Thought it was brilliant horror/comedy with done excellent performances. Samara Weaving is excellent as the bride.
Scream (2022)
Well fuck a duck, absolutely terrible. Not sure if it was meant to be a spoof but certainly came across as one.
