Last Film You Saw

The Wonderful Country.

I love discovering these old movies. I can't belive how good most of them are. In this one Robert Mitchum's character is brilliant. As usual with these movies the love angle is shoehorned in but it works great still - and besides the actresses in the 40s and 50s were incredibly beautiful. A golden age for movies.

I watched it on Prime and it was a pity that the picture quality was so poor. It'd be great if these classics were digitally upgraded somehow.

American Underdog. True story of Kurt Warner and his journey to the NFL and St Louis Rams. Really enjoyed it and a cracking sports movie. 8/10

Old movies and Mitchum don't get any better than Night of The Hunter (1955)

Robert Mitchum at his menacing best in this Deep Southern Gothic tale.

Leave the world behind. Felt like I've just watched the first 3 episodes of a 10 episode tv show. If it were that, It would be very enjoyable so far. as a film and that's it, it's fucking wank.
I’m so tempted to watch this as always when I see such review, and usually end up disappointed then getting annoyed with myself. I’m therefore going to read the whole plot so I don’t watch this

The Shop Around The Corner (1940)

You've Got Mail was a remake of sorts of this James Stewart film.
A completely non offensive, light hearted wholesome film to watch just before Christmas.
8.5/10
