Manhunter is slightly let down by some dodgy editing at the end but still a quality film. I’d say his best are Heat, Manhunter and Collateral, possibly in that order.
But I’m yet to see The Last of the Mohicans, Thief and Ali.

According to an article I read some time ago, the item transported by Denzil (no spoilers here) would have been impossible to carry in a backpack.
Indeed, he would have needed a forklift and a large truck to move it.

Gary Oldman eventually got the item that Denzil had carried across North America, but it was no use to him, for the obvious reason.
There's no way either Denzil or Gary would have been able to lift it.
