Last Film You Saw

Just back from Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire.

As a huge fan of the original, I found lots to like and enjoy. Definitely some issues though, particularly around too many characters/too many ideas.

Mainly though, lots of build up and then it was suddenly all over. I’m sure we can all empathise….

7/10
Found it cluttered, pleasantly nostalgic, and a continued passing of the baton. Still, some great dialogue, build ups, and challenges. Definitely not the worst sequel. Enjoyed it. Compliments I, II, and Afterlife.

Weird to see comedian-actor James Acaster in it. Kettering to New York.

Watched ‘Belfast’ last night. Really enjoyed it once I’d activated subtitles! ;-)
I remember watching Sweet Sixteen, the Ken Loach film with Martin Compston (of Line of Duty fame).

The main cast, including Compston, had never acted before, and spoke in thick accents, with plenty of local slang/dialect. They had a notice at the beginning that there would be subtitles for the first few minutes, (so you could tune into the language), but after that you were on your own :)

Taking the kids to see Ghostbusters; Frozen Empire, this evening.

Will report back, accordingly...
Kids both really enjoyed it. Its better than Afterlife but not better than GB1 or 2. That's a tough achievement though.

I thought Bill Murray was under used. He seemed to sleepwalk through it.

Was a pleasant two hours, in a big reclining chair. Probably won't head back to the cinema now, until Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, in the Autumn

Better than Afterlife? Really? That was a brilliant nostalgia trip, this new one looks OK I'll obviously still watch it, but it looks no where near as good as Afterlife.
