Haven't seen Cloverfield 1 yet so don't want to watch the 2nd just yet. Is it worth watching Cloverfield 1?

Anyway. The Revenant. Visually off the scale. Makes your average Terrance Malick film look like a Hanna Barbera cartoon. Sadly, the plot seemed to consist of two hours of Leo breathing heavily (completely ruining my enjoyment of the gorgeous ambient soundtrack).

I sat through two hours of him bleeding, grunting and limping... waiting for him to recover,... waiting for something, anything to happen... then just as it looks like he's on the mend, and the film is about to get going... he rides his horse off a cliff. By the time he hit the ground, I was watching Al-Jazeera.
